There are more than 50 areas where volunteers are needed to do a variety of tasks throughout our health system, from St. Mary's Medical Center, SMDC Medical Center and St. Mary's Hospital of Superior to the Duluth Clinic, East Range Hospice, Duluth Hospice, Itasca Hospice and St. Mary's Grief Support Center.
Our volunteer staff will be happy to talk with you to find out what area best fits your interests. Volunteer areas include:

Volunteer tasks include:
- Answering telephones
- Working in waiting rooms, relaying information to patients’ family members
- Assembling patient information packets
- Working the gift shop or café
- Delivering flowers to patient rooms
- Organizing supplies or running errands for nursing and clerical staff
- Visiting with patients
