SMDC Cancer Center receives distinguished award
The SMDC Cancer Center recently received the Commission on Cancer''s Outstanding Achievement Award.
The award recognizes the Cancer Center’s excellence in providing quality care to cancer patients. The Cancer Center received the prestigious award following an on-site evaluation by a physician surveyor during which it demonstrated excellence in these areas:
- cancer committee leadership
- cancer data management
- clinical services
- research
- community outreach
- quality improvement
The Commission on Cancer is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving the survival and quality of life for cancer patients through standard-setting, prevention, research, education and the monitoring of comprehensive quality care.
